Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll operations across the EMEA region, with a strong focus on the Netherlands. This is a hands-on role that involves both in-house payroll processing and managing external vendors. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure accurate and compliant payroll delivery across multiple countries. 

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of payroll experience, including at least 3 years in a regional or international role.
  • Proven experience managing in-house payroll and working with external payroll vendors across multiple EMEA countries.
  • Strong knowledge of local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems like Workday, SAP, or ADP.
  • Comfortable working independently and building processes from scratch.
  • Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.

  • Professional certification in payroll, HR, or finance is a bonus.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end payroll process for all EMEA entities (Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Romania, UK and Ukraine), working with local external payroll vendors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll processing, including variable pay, benefits, bonuses and statutory requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all EMEA payroll providers, managing SLAs, contracts and performance.
  • Review and validate payroll reports before submission and sign-off.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, reporting requirements, and GDPR.
  • Continuously improve payroll processes, tools and documentation.
  • Partner with Finance on payroll accounting, reporting, audits and month-end close.
  • Collaborate with People/HR teams on employee lifecycle changes (hires, terminations, leaves, compensation updates).
  • Collaborate with US-based teams and operate within varied reporting structures
  • Handle employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
