Pfizer is seeking a Primary Insights expert to join the Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) team to support the Prevnar Vaccine for Adults. IIS is a team of internal consultants and brand strategists that partner with senior commercial leaders and GCA (Global Commercial Analytics) COEs, to maximize business value and enable executional excellence.
Reporting to the IIS US Comirnaty and Prevnar Adult Vaccines Team Lead, this person will be responsible for designing and executing best-in-class primary market research to represent the “voice of the customer” in support of the strategic priorities of the team. This person will be accountable for developing and executing a market research plan of >$1M of US & Global market research as well as a key strategic point of contact for US and global brand commercial leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively identifying business questions, creating learning plans to address those questions, designing and managing multiple simultaneous research initiatives, understanding changes in customer and patient attitudes and behaviors through a variety of PMR studies, and delivering clear and actionable insights-based recommendations that directly impact performance.
As a member of the IIS team in the larger Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) organization at Pfizer, you will work with a team that is an important source of intellectual insight on commercial brand strategy, framing business problems in a way that the business can then execute to drive impact and unlock value. Specifically, IIS is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities in performance to unlock brand value and to advise the business on drivers of transformational change. IIS harnesses insights from multiple sources across GCA, leading day-to-day problem solving, team management, and business partner management. IIS leverages their deep functional knowledge, exceptional intellectual curiosity, and proprietary GCA tools to every business interaction, while managing and developing strategic relationships and ensuring the highest quality work, and inspiring, leading and developing new IIS colleagues.
Brand Strategy
- Provide strategic thought partnership to US and Global commercial teams to drive investment decisions, strategies and tactical plans
- Act as strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to the identification and evaluation of commercial strategies and tactics.
- Design and execute market research studies, serving as voice of the customer for the brand strategy team.
- Develop and execute creation of in-house knowledge base to drive patient and HCP insights.
- Develop and monitor key performance metrics to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of a brand’s marketing campaign.
- Recommend campaign improvement and corrective actions.
- Evaluate campaign assets to ensure optimal customer experience steeped in deep customer insights.
- Integrate campaign insights to broader analytic activities to paint the full picture of marketing execution and customer behavior and inform resource allocation decisions.
- Play a key role in advancing the vision for the future direction of brand activities.
- Lead the end-to-end vendor selection and management process, including contract negotiation and performance oversight. Partner with vendor/contingent workers to ensure delivery of high-quality market research for U.S. and global markets, aligned with business objectives and compliance standards.
- Partner with various cross-functional teams – data science, analytics engineering, market research, and media – as needed.
- Alignment with other analytic teams to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to advancement of team capabilities through thought leadership; seek to share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform.
- BA/BS in Marketing, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering or similar related field required; MS or MBA preferred.
- 6+ years in consulting or market analytics/ market research (5+ years for MS or MBA)
- Demonstrated ability to develop market research plans and lead research projects with a budget of >$1M annually
- Proven expertise in leading the end-to-end vendor selection and management process for U.S. and international vendors for market research, ensuring compliance and high-quality execution
- Defined involvement in helping frame, design & execute solutions for challenging business situations
- In-depth knowledge of multiple analytic disciplines, including primary and secondary data, with a keen understanding of output and quality/timely insight derivation
- Proven track record of being an indispensable thought partner to brand leaders and influencing without authority
- Team-orientation and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills and the ability to manage through influence
- Exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity, a creative visionary who can foster innovation
- Sophisticated executive demeanor, comfortable functioning at high levels of organizations; excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to influence and drive change at all levels in an organization
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing
- Excellent PPT and Excel skills
- 3+ years of vaccines experience
- Experience leading global and US market research for consumer and HCP insights
- Understanding of IQVIA (DDD, LAAD) and other secondary data sources
