Military Sales – Director of Business Development

Location: Remote in United Arab Emirates

An internationally recognized defense and industrial-services provider is expanding its footprint across the Gulf. To accelerate growth, the company is hiring a Director of Business Development to spearhead military-sales strategy, deepen customer relationships, and deliver complex programs across the UAE and wider GCC. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will own pipeline health, regional revenue, and end-to-end program execution - shaping how allied forces stay mission-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute a multi-year, multi-channel growth plan that increases defense revenue while capturing adjacent industrial-service opportunities (engine overhaul, in-country assembly, parts logistics, and construction solutions).
  • Cultivate C-level and ministry relationships within defense, energy, EPC, and heavy-equipment sectors, converting insight into signed contracts and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award, launch, and sustainment, meeting schedule, budget, and quality targets.
  • Track market and regulatory developments; translate intelligence into actionable go-to-market pivots and new solution offerings.
  • Serve as the company’s ambassador at international defense exhibitions and supplier forums.
  • Provide timely pipeline metrics, revenue forecasts, and P&L commentary to the CEO and board.
  • Uphold rigorous compliance and safety standards, promoting a culture of integrity and customer satisfaction.


Ideal Profile

  • 10+ years of progressive business-development leadership within defense or heavy-industrial services, with a clear record of closing multi-million-dollar programs in the Middle East.
  • Deep familiarity with GCC defense-procurement frameworks, offset requirements, and contracting norms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related discipline (master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years living and operating in the region, supported by a well-established senior network.
  • Fluency in English plus conversational Arabic; additional languages a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience briefing C-suite stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel regionally 10–20%.
