Job Description

Lead Software Engineer – Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC)

Build the autonomous flight systems shaping the future of aerospace.

Step into a pivotal technical role with a fast-growing aerospace innovator developing next-generation autonomous air platforms. If you want to work on real flight systems, not legacy maintenance, this is where you’ll thrive.

This team is doing true clean-sheet design, rapid prototyping, and hands-on testing — the kind of environment where you can see your code take to the sky within days, not months.

As the Lead Software Engineer, You’ll Own:

You’ll be at the heart of autonomy development, creating the guidance, navigation, and control software that powers advanced unmanned systems.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing GNC algorithms within COTS/autopilot frameworks
  • Building robust, real-time embedded software (STM32, Jetson, Xilinx SoCs)
  • Integrating software with airframes, avionics, and sensor payloads
  • Driving system validation through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight tests
  • Providing technical leadership across cross-functional engineering teams

What You Bring as the Lead Software Engineer

  • 10+ years in aerospace or defense software engineering
  • Strong GNC and UAS experience (PX4, ArduPilot, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of flight dynamics across fixed-wing and rotorcraft
  • Proven embedded systems expertise
  • U.S. citizenship (required for defense programs)

Bonus Points

  • Active DoD security clearance
  • FAA Part 107
  • Experience with EO/IR or radar integrations
  • FPGA/VHDL exposure
  • DevOps or CI/CD pipeline experience

As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll Love Working Here becuase:
