Position Title: Testing Lead

Location: Remote (USA)

Clearance Requirements: Must have or be eligible for Public Trust Clearance

U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders only

Position Status: Long-Term Contract

Pay Rate: $50/hr


Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Testing Lead to support a large-scale, enterprise-level modernization program within a national technology environment. This role will oversee end-to-end testing activities, lead a multi-disciplinary testing team, and drive quality across high-volume, cloud-enabled applications that process billions of records daily.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, deep testing expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Agile teams, environment management, and executive stakeholders. This role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to influence testing strategy, improve automation maturity, and guide continuous delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and develop the overall testing strategy across multiple applications and releases.
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate automation testers, functional testers, and customer acceptance testers.
  • Identify and manage test environments, working closely with Environment Management and SCRUM teams.
  • Oversee the creation of test plans, test cases, and scenarios using HP ALM or similar tools.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manual and automated testing based on project needs.
  • Guide the development and execution of test automation frameworks (Selenium, UFT, etc.).
  • Conduct and oversee Chaos Testing, High Availability (HA) testing, and performance validation.
  • Collaborate with product owners, engineering teams, and leadership to align testing with business goals.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, Agile/DevOps practices, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Support reporting, defect management, and quality metrics for release readiness.

Required Skills/Education:

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA leadership roles.
  • Strong expertise in manual testing, test design, and test execution.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, UFT, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with HP ALM, JIRA, VersionOne, or other test/work management tools.
  • Experience testing applications in cloud environments (GCP or Azure preferred).
  • Strong SQL skills for validating data and conducting backend testing.
  • Experience with API/Web Services testing using Postman or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor team members and contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team.
