SAIC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Systems Principal to support the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) program at the US Air Forces Europe / Air Forces Africa (U-A) Warfare Center (UAWC) in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

COBRA provides for the implementation, integration, development, and delivery of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) solutions to support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partner multi-domain operations (MDO) within the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) strategy.

The role of this position is to provide Systems Engineering activities directly supporting the Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) M&S training and analysis environments at the UAWC. Success in this position directly impacts the training readiness of United States and partner military forces in Europe. This position provides a unique opportunity to work directly with the US and partner nation military forces on the integration of modeling and simulation technology into the training environment.

The M&S Systems Engineer Principal will

  • Provide operational and technical expertise to provide the following Systems Engineering activities to support UAWC M&S capabilities integrated with Joint, Allied, and Coalition partners
    • M&S requirements definition
    • Analysis and engineering
    • M&S system architecting
    • M&S system analysis and design
    • M&S data architecture analysis
    • Validation and verification of M&S systems
    • M&S systems integration
    • M&S system & operational performance analysis
    • UAWC leadership decision analysis supporting M&S equities
    • Physical configuration analysis of M&S systems
  • Facilitate and promote the interchange of information on requirements, capabilities, deficiencies, and technology applications for UAWC exercises and training events to meet warfighter Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs).
  • Integrate, support, and document M&S capabilities and emerging technologies to promote M&S efforts with Joint, Allied, and Coalition commands, units, and institutions. This includes NATO Modeling and Simulations Groups (NMSGs) and Distributed Simulation Training (DST) efforts.
  • Evaluate and test new and emerging technologies associated with M&S and advise leadership on opportunities to improve exercises and training events.
  • Coordinate with staff action officers on technical and operational topics related to this effort.
Qualifications

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • US Citizen, Active U.S. Secret security clearance, eligible for Top Secret.
  • A bachelor's degree plus 9 years of recent Systems Engineer experience, OR; relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.

Desired Experience/Qualifications

  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
  • USAF Operational Experience – 1X AFSCs (11X/12X/13X, etc.)
  • Experience working with NATO
  • Experience with Distributed Mission Training development and management
  • Experience in developing LVC Training Events
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environment, UNIX, Linux, Hyper convergence technology, VMWare, VDI zero client architecture, cross-domain solutions.

Expected Salary Range - Highly Dependent On Candidate Qualifications.

  • $120,000 - $165,000/year
