We are recruiting an Associate Director, Quality Assurance to lead the quality team at our Aerostructures Foley Site (inclusive of assembly / paint / electrical / nacelle podding / engine build up). The person will lead and drive a quality culture at the Foley site through data driven initiatives and projects.

The Associate Director reports to the Aerostructures Director of Quality – Operations with strong linkage to the Foley site General Manager and is part of the Foley site leadership team. The role ensures the quality of our products and processes is compliant with internal and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvements.

This position will be located in Foley, AL. Relocation assistance available.

What You Will Do

  • Ensures delivered quality to both internal and external customers for the Foley site.
  • Directs collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategies and programs.
  • Develop plans to ensure achievement of quality performance targets and goals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and report site quality performance to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate high performing teams while supporting career development and growth for direct and indirect employees to ensure proper succession within the site and aerostructures organization.
  • The Foley site quality leader is accountable for:
    • Overall quality performance at the Foley site (i.e. COPQ / SRR / Defect reduction / escapes / etc.).
    • Making continuous improvement of inspection processes, systems, and methods to enhance the performance of quality.
    • Site quality compliance to quality procedures, standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements.
    • Special process performance (i.e. Nadcap conformance)
    • Tool and gauge calibration and metrology
  • The Foley site quality leader responsibilities also include:
    • Ensuring product configuration management, issuance of CoC, and final customer buyoff.
    • Managing staffing to budget remaining aligned with site and program goals.
    • Collaborate and partner with cross-functionals team to solve complex, technical problems requiring investigation & analysis (i.e. RCCA / 8D).
    • Support site EH&S goals, initiatives, and product safety.
    • Represent Foley site supporting cross site and centrally driven initiatives.
Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Experience leading a large team interfacing with direct and indirect team members driving quality culture through data driven initiatives and projects.
  • Experience in quality assurance with knowledge of shop assembly practices and supporting day-to-day operations.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrate familiarity and usage of APQP / PPAP tools at the shop level across multiple products / programs.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma (certified in Six Sigma or Shainin RedX problem solving preferred).
  • Knowledge of FAA / EASA Part 21 regulatory requirements, and industry quality standards (AS9100)
  • Aerospace experience preferred

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
