Job Description: Bilingual QA Engineer / Tester

Location: Remote (Mexico, Colombia, or Argentina)

Language Requirement: Conversational English

About the Role

The Bilingual QA Engineer/Tester will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and cultural relevance of localized product and marketing content. This role requires strong attention to detail, linguistic sensitivity, and the ability to adapt content to the cultural and regional expectations of Spanish-speaking users. The position collaborates closely with internal teams and localization partners to manage the full lifecycle of localization testing and delivery.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of localization production and testing for products and localized web pages, including requirement gathering, test environment setup, creation of test plans/test cases, and execution of sanity, linguistic, and regression tests.
  • Use ticketing tools such as Asana, Workfront, or JIRA to manage linguistic issues and reporting.
  • Apply linguistic updates directly within Translation Memory (TM) systems.
  • Collaborate with content writers to ensure source content is localization-friendly.
  • Partner with UI/UX and engineering teams to address issues such as hard-coded strings, RTL enablement, and externalization of localizable elements.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced and distributed environment.
  • Occasional travel for project or team meetings may be required.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an in-country localization tester.
  • Native Spanish speaker.
  • Strong cultural awareness of regional Spanish language usage.
  • Proficient written and spoken English (conversational).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quality-driven.
  • Experience with automation test frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) is a plus.
  • Experience with iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs, and web applications.
  • Experience with Translation Management Systems (e.g., Smartling).
  • Understanding of localization best practices and common localization pitfalls.
  • Strong skills in bug tracking, analysis, reporting, and managing multiple projects.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills.


Bonus Points

  • Experience with machine translation.
  • Proficiency in another language besides English and Spanish.
  • Participation in localization communities or familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Experience working in remote-first environments.
