Description

A digital, data, and solutions consultancy with over 35 years of experience is looking for a UX Designer to join their growing team. You will work remotely from anywhere in the UK, occasionally collaborating on client sites or at UK offices.

This consultancy delivers impactful work across public sector and national-scale services, while maintaining a collaborative, supportive environment where designers are empowered to grow and lead.


Role Summary

As a UX Designer, you will research user needs, design intuitive experiences, and support multi-disciplinary teams delivering digital services. You will help define user journeys, produce UX artefacts, run workshops, and ensure services are accessible, user centred, and aligned with project goals.


A strong portfolio demonstrating UX design experience is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research using interviews, surveys, and other appropriate methods.
  • Analyse findings and synthesise insights across multiple research sources.
  • Produce UX artefacts including personas, user journeys, and service blueprints.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design iterations at appropriate fidelity levels.
  • Lead and participate in workshops with stakeholders and users.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct usability testing and feed results back into continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusion, following WCAG 2.2.
  • Define and inform information architecture and navigation design.
  • Work within Agile teams and advocate for user centred design.
  • Support mentoring and knowledge sharing within the UX community of practice.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to present insights clearly.
  • Experience designing accessible digital systems and working with WCAG 2.2 (desirable).
  • Ability to design intuitive, user centred digital experiences backed by research.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Axure, or Balsamiq.
  • Familiarity with research tools such as Dovetail, Mural, and Microsoft Forms.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (desirable).
  • Experience working within Agile environments.
  • Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards (desirable).
  • A strong UX portfolio available upon request.

Additional Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (desirable).
  • Must be eligible for SC clearance (UK resident for minimum 5 years, with right to work).
