This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Economy Designer - Sunshine Island in Germany.
As a Senior Economy Designer, you will own and shape the in-game economy of a highly popular live title, ensuring that player progression, resource flow, and monetization systems are balanced, engaging, and sustainable. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to model economic systems, predict player behavior, and optimize retention and monetization strategies. This role offers a chance to influence a live, high-impact game enjoyed by millions, while collaborating in a creative, globally distributed environment that values experimentation, data-driven decision making, and player satisfaction. You will be a key contributor to the long-term success of the game and its community.
Accountabilities:
- Own the live game economy, monitoring resources and identifying areas for improvement or potential risks
- Model, simulate, and iterate on economic flows to ensure balanced player progression and monetization
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and design teams to align economy design with live operations, content cadence, and player motivations
- Develop monetization systems that enhance player experience while supporting long-term revenue goals
- Create and manage A/B testing plans to validate hypotheses around pricing, progression, and rewards
- Establish best practices, documentation, and tools for economy tracking, balance tuning, and design rationale
- Benchmark trends in F2P, simulation, and mid-core games to evolve the economy design
- Several years of experience designing in-game economies for F2P titles or other live games
- Deep understanding of LiveOps, monetization strategies, and player behavior analytics
- Strong hands-on skills with spreadsheets, modeling tools, and emerging AI tools for game analysis
- Detail-oriented, resilient, and able to take ownership of initiatives from concept to execution
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English
