The Role
As the Director of HR, you'll lead every aspect of our people strategy - from hiring and onboarding to payroll, compliance, and culture. You'll design HR policies and programs that scale with our growth across multiple states and global locations, and you'll partner with leadership to make a place where people love to work and grow.
What You'll Do
People Strategy & Leadership
- Lead HR operations and strategy, aligning people initiatives with business goals.
- Build scalable HR processes that support a distributed, high-growth team.
- Champion our company culture and employee experience.
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process: attract, interview, and hire top talent across technical, operational, and leadership roles.
- Partner with department heads to forecast hiring needs and build a proactive talent pipeline.
- Develop employer branding strategies to position company as an employer of choice.
- Design and implement employee training and professional development programs.
- Support leadership development, career pathing, and skills-building initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and growth.
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance across multiple states and countries.
- Manage and optimize employee benefits programs to stay competitive and cost-effective.
- Partner with Finance to align compensation and benefits with company goals.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international labor regulations.
- Anticipate changes in employment law and adjust company practices proactively.
- Support a distributed team across multiple states and international regions.
- Manage onboarding, performance reviews, employee relations, and offboarding processes.
- Promote fairness, inclusivity, and consistency in all people operations.
- Manage HRIS and payroll systems to streamline processes and improve data insights.
- Use people analytics to measure engagement, retention, and HR program impact.
- Build and mentor a high-performing HR team focused on excellence and collaboration.
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement across all HR functions.
- 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, training program design, and organizational development.
- Strong understanding of multi-state and global HR compliance.
- Solid background in payroll, benefits, and policy creation.
- Experience building HR operations in high-growth or startup environments.
- Excellent communicator with strong leadership and people skills.
- Fintech, mortgage, or technology industry experience is a plus.
