Job Description


Unreal MetaHuman Developer/Designer / 1 week freelance contract


Background:

An Event Management company have previously prototyped and successfully delivered

interactive AI avatars for use at events and exhibitions for several clients. These avatars have been trained on client materials and brand guidelines to be a single source of knowledge for any queries and information relating to the client, their products and services, or general event information. They are also integral to lead generation and engaging passers-by at the event.

The avatar can be customized both in appearance and personality style to accurately reflect the brand tone/voice the client wishes to convey.

The avatar is brought to life at the live event via screens or holographic fan displays and users can interact with the avatar by speaking into a microphone enabling natural conversational

interactions and engagement.


The Ask:

Although these avatars have proven to be highly successful and engaging at events. The team is looking for a partner who can bolster and enhance this offering to ensure the solution we’re providing is robust enough to cope with a live environment and avoid some of the pain points/challenges encountered at these pilot events.


Tech Stack/Configuration


Unreal 5.5 Metahumans:

We create the avatars using the Unreal Metahuman creator. This allows a good level of customisation for the clients without the need for bespoke character modelling & rigging. Small bespoke customisations can be made e.g. adding branding to clothing & custom actions such as

waving and dancing.


Convai:

Convai offers an existing unreal engine plugin for metahumans and handles the ai API calls, idle animations, lip-sync and knowledge ingest. Whilst this plugin is fantastic, it is fairly limited in terms of customisation so overrides in unreal must be made.


HyperVSN Holographic Fans:

Hypervsn displays use spinning LED’s to create the illusion of floating holographic images. They simply act as a 1080 x 2518px screen. We also often use 4k monitors when creating screen-based avatars so build resolution must be responsive.


Gaming PC Specs:

Razer Blade 15 Adv or Razer Blade Pro 17.


Skills/Requirements:

- Previous experience with Unreal Engine

- Previous experience with MetaHumans

- Ideally worked with Convai

- AI plug-in experience would be a bonus


The team have made a start on the work, but require a specialist to finesse this and help complete the project before the event.


This role can be part-time or full-time, as long as it's completed before the live event in Mid-November. Must be able to start ASAP.
