About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our federal team on a 100% remote basis. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who has worked within government contracting environments and is familiar with the full employee lifecycle. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting our mission-driven team by managing onboarding and offboarding processes, administering employee benefits, handling employee relations, ensuring compliance, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
The position requires a candidate who can navigate complex regulatory requirements, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including remote employees and leadership. The successful candidate will contribute to creating an engaging, compliant, and inclusive employee experience aligned with our organizational values and federal contracting standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience in a government contracting environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
- Knowledge of federal contractor compliance requirements, including FLSA, EEO, and OFCCP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience supporting remote employees and managing virtual HR processes.
- Manage the full onboarding process, including I-9/E-Verify compliance, background checks, and new hire orientations.
- Coordinate offboarding activities, such as exit interviews, access removal, and final documentation processing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits enrollment, life events, and inquiries.
- Support employees and leaders in resolving workplace issues with empathy, fairness, and professionalism, including sensitive matters like furloughs and layoffs.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as government contractor requirements.
- Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of employee records and documentation.
- Support audits, compliance reporting, and filings such as EEO-1 and VETS-4212.
- Coordinate employee engagement and wellness initiatives, including virtual events and recognition programs.
- Assist in coordinating compliance and professional development training sessions, supporting learning management systems, and identifying growth opportunities for staff.
- Support payroll processes, including timecard setup, adjustments, and semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Utilize HR systems and tools to generate reports on HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and benefits participation.
